done.

Just like that, we're done with college.

sam & toby

My best friend, Katie, and I love the sadly no-longer-on-the-air TV show, The West Wing. We often have epic, epic West Wing marathons and have become rather fond of the characters and often enjoy likening ourselves to them in certain situation.

Right now we are Sam and Toby: Under Pressure Writing Duo.

Katie (Sam - because she is the dreamer and has more hair) has a huge article due in a few hours. She's 300 words away.
Audrey (Toby - because I am older and also because of aforementioned less hair than Katie) is sitting close for things like moral support, synonyms and general ra-ra.

If you never watch West Wing, this may not make much sense to you. Sorry.

Toby:

Happy Wednesday.

Today I got some purple tulips from a boy.
He is 4 years old.
It made my day like you wouldn't believe.

the 5 "d"s...

Guess what? Finals aren't fun.
Yes, this is a rather duh-ish thing to say, but it doesn't make it any less true.
Here are the Audrey's Stages of Dealing with Finals:

1.) Disbelief: "Um, what? Finals? Already? What? Huh?"
2.) Depression: "The world is a cold, cold place and also horrible for inflicting such a troubling, horrid time upon a poor person such as me."
3.) Denial: "Yeah, who studies anymore?"
4.) Diligence: "Quick! Get good grades!"
5.) Diversions: "Hey, youtube is fun...and Starbucks and friends and brunch and blogging..."

I'm currently on the last "D." It's actually a very fun place to be, especially on the weekend when it seems somewhat justified...
Here are a few of my favorite distractions:

tux + crocs

My father is a classical pianist. He loves it. And he's also not half bad at it, too. Tonight he played a Schumann piano concerto. He was great. He also wore a tux and snazzy black Crocs [he recently had ankle surgery so he can't wear "real shoes." His words, not mine].

How cool is my dad?

thirteen days

I have thirteen days to go. Thirteen days before I finish college. Forever (amendment: finish UNDERGRADUATE college forever, but for the purposes of this post, let's say that is a super big accomplishment.)
In thirteen days I will have built a website, designed a newsletter, and taken some tests.
In thirteen days I will be DONE.
It's literally the most exciting, frightening time I'm living in right now. So much to accomplish, so much to look forward to, and so much unknown.
But here's the good news:
Thirteen days are going to go by no matter what and when they do, I'll get breathe the biggest sigh of relief of my life.
And after that, I get to turn my attention to crafts

and friends

and books

It's going to be grand.

Happy Last Thirteen Days to you.

top 10 Tuesday: the sequel

I have decided that today is going to be glorious. It's sunny outside, I'm going to have some iced coffee in approximately 25 minutes and I'm going to see an Ingrid Michaelson concert tonight.
I also just finished catching up on blog reading/random Internet explorage. Here are 10 things that are catching my fancy today:

1.) Scarf heaven: I'm such a sucker for scarves and color in general...so this is a win-win for me.

2.) Spring crafts: you're going to see a lot of them in this post. I love how simple these birds look.

3.) Super-cool floor coverings: this rug is simply fabulous...if only I had a house of my own...

4.) Yellow pianos: enough said.

5.) Alternative uses for tea tins.

6.) Book art: I think I'm too OCD about my book conditions to try this...alas...

7.) More fun crafts: these ones look so doable...it gives me hope that I'll have time to do crafts again soon.

8.) Hair funkiness: and it's yellow to boot.

9.) Excellent wallpaper: not sure what the bugs and scorpions are all about, but it's still super cool.

10.) Easter eggs: I don't think I've decorated Easter eggs since I was a kid, but I really think I might give it a try this Sunday.

Have a glorious Tuesday!
