First there was Christina.

Then there was Emily.

And then Kimberly.

And now my best friend Katie is letting me become a bridesmaid for the 4th time!

idaho.

So I'm in Pocatello, Idaho at the moment. I'm out here meeting with a client for work. I really wasn't sure what to expect from Idaho, but the word that for some reason came to mind first was: cold. Guess what. It's not cold here. It's 90 degrees - actually warmer than it is in Tennessee!

Idaho also has some of the most bizarre topography I've ever seen. My team's travels took us from Nashville to Phoenix to Salt Lake City and then a car ride for several hours. The drive to Pocatello was  desert-ish, to say the least! I thought there would be mountains and rolling green hills. Not true. Not to say that Idaho isn't beautiful - it is...in it's own way!

It's been a long day of travel. I'm frankly ready to hit the hay, but I think some nourishment is in order first.

Here is what I imagined my Idaho outfit would need to be:

Guess I won't be needing the boots!

Happy Tuesday!

what I'd like to do today.

I would like to go apple picking:

{latartinegourmande}

I would like to read this book:

{stuffwhitepeoplelike}

I would like my desk to be adorable and organized like this:

{acreativemint}

I don't think any of those things are going to happen. Oh well. Today is still a good day!

Happy Thursday!

halloween.

My birthday is on October 31st, or as it's better known to everyone else, Halloween.

I'm kind of wishing I was still 8 years old so I could get away with sending out birthday party invitations from Rifle Paper Co. like this:

Also adorable? This:

This:

And this:

Maybe I can still get away with it.

Happy Tuesday!

fall.

Goodness. I love fall. Name something about fall, and I love it.
I love the crisp air, school supplies, pumpkin, apples, colorful trees, scarecrows, hot drinks, boots, tights, sweaters, scarves, the color orange, corn mazes, bonfires, halloween...really, I could go on forever.

Here's the sad news: even though it's September, it's not fall in Chattanooga yet. It was a not-so-crisp 87 degrees today. Much too warm for tights and bonfires. It's slightly devastating.

But I'm doing my best to transition into the season even though the weather outside is not wanting to cooperate.

I'm working on some more crochet projects! I have a friend who will be having a baby in the spring [therefore = baby blanket!] and I'm stocking up on hand warmers and computer cases to give as gifts [sorry friends, now you know what you're getting...] I also just frankly want to put some yarn in a vase...

My boyfriend and I are going to see Sufjan Stevens with our dear friends, the Morrises in Atlanta. We aren't going until November, but the tickets just came in the mail and made me very excited.

In other news, I'm not very good at ice skating.

Hooray for fall!

back.

So it's been a while.
I feel like it's an understatement to say my life has changed.
So much has happened!

I have an amazing job now as an Associate Publisher at True North Custom Publishing. This was my first week working full time. This is going to be QUITE an adjustment. If I wasn't addicted to coffee before, I certainly am now.

I also have a pretty swell boyfriend. Another big adjustment, but an OH so pleasant one! Much more on that later, I'm sure.

My weekend involves IKEA and Cheesecake Factory and family and sleep.
I couldn't be more thrilled.

soccer & crafts

We're big World Cup watchers in my house.

Right now we're all sitting around watching Uruguay and Ghana battle it out.

I love it.

Also, I'm researching crochet/knitting/crafts in general projects.

Happy Weekend!

thanks, canada...[eh?]

First of all, today is Canada Day. So, thank you Canada for all you've done for us.

I love this weekend already. I have tomorrow AND Monday off work - so I have lots of time to celebrate Canada and America on both their celebratory day. Growing up, 4th of July was ALMOST my favorite holiday (Thanksgiving still kind of edges it out...although I'm not exactly sure why. More on that thought when it's November, I guess). I think the reason I loved it so much was it meant PIE.

Sweet, sweet PIE.

And not just ANY kind of pie, award-winning pie.

When I lived in Michigan, my family lived in a small town that hosted an International Cherry Festival every 4th of July. It was a VERY big deal. Included in the International Cherry Festival festivities was a Pie Baking Contest. One year, my mother won the grand prize. It wasn't surprising (she's very, VERY good with food), but it did give us a recipe (that she apparently and believably threw together the morning of the contest) to dub Grand-Prize Winning Cherry Pie.

It's divine.

And I get to eat some on Sunday.

I can't wait.

In other news, here's a picture of the lovely bride and groom, Kim & Doug, from their Vermont wedding last weekend. Their photographer, Ashley McCormick, is amazing to say the least!

it's a wedding!

I love when my friends get married. Especially when my very good friends get married.

Doug and Kim are getting married this weekend and all the gang is in Vermont for the festivities.

Here are a few fun photos. I'll have more soon!

P.S. Vermont is fast becoming one of my favorite states...it's so beautiful! Everyone should visit at least once...

what I've done today

*I found out about 48hr magazine from this fantastic post on the blog, Museum 2.0

[Be sure to check out the magazine website as well.]

*I ate some pizza. But not your ordinary kind of pizza...

*I made a To-Do list.

I should probably get back to it.

Have a happy Wednesday.

It's been a while.

I made these today. They were delicious, if I do say so myself. I recommend their creation and consumption to anyone and everyone.

Now that I've finished my Epic Afghan Project, I feel a bit aimless. I always like to be in the midst of a craftsy sort of project. Here's something I've found that I may try to take on next:

Here's the problem: I'm not really sure how to do it. I've messed around with it for a while, but to no avail. I'm currently on the hunt for the pattern. If anyone happens to know where I could find one, I would be thrilled to be pointed in the right direction.

Life has been pretty busy lately. I'm getting a taste of the Real World Working Life and it's taking me a bit to adjust. However, I love that I get to think about things like {this} and try new {food} and read, read, READ when I come home at 5.

Happy [almost] Tuesday.

fonville press

This is a little coffee/bookshop we pass every day on the way to the beach.
It's called Fonville Press.
I need to go before we leave.

t is for tomato

Tomato. That is what I am this morning. I promise I applied sunscreen. But apparently not enough as my body is one big red mess. Oh dear.
So I'm taking a break from the sun today. Going to apply lots and lots of aloe and hope it turns to brown soon.

Besides tomato, "t" is also for thinking:

And Tuesday.
Hope yours is grand.

c is for cupcakes.

You may be tired of me talking about them, but cupcakes are absolutely the bomb. [Sidenote: not sure if saying "the bomb" is currently en vogue, but I'm going to use it anyway.]

This cupcake blog has me utterly inspired. I see baking in my future...

I'm currently at the most delightful beach house in Florida. And I'll be here all week. Life really is quite delightful at the moment. Although, my skin got rather red today and kind of feels like it's on fire...hmm...more sunscreen tomorrow.

I'll remember to take pictures.

Happy New Week.

living the post-grad life...

So I'm graduated. It happened. It was rather lengthy and I was pretty thirsty the entire time, but it was also very epic in a very wonderful way. However, in short, I recommend graduation to everyone.

So now I'm a college graduate. And this week I have absolutely no responsibilities. It's fabulous.

So here's what I'm going to do:

*Make some homemade Poptarts (thanks, smittenkitchen!)

*Mess around with design things. Just for fun, not for grades. Just cause I can.

*Buy some flowers.

*Take lots of pictures. I don't think I document my life as well as I should.

*Eat some cake.

*Finish my dang afghan! SO close! So close! SO CLOSE!
I worked on it a bit today. Hanna Melara can testify to this.

Any other recommendations?
